Service Director

The Service Director will lead a team of service professionals to deliver exceptional value to our customers on a continuous basis. He or she will plan, train, lead, and monitor the performance of service advisors, technicians and parts specialists to promote customer satisfaction and revenue growth in line with targeted business and financial objectives. The Service & Parts Director must have managerial experience and leadership qualities. He or she must be willing to accept accountability for operational and financial performance for the service parts departments.
Some post-secondary education (degree, coursework, certification, etc.) preferred and at least five years of experience in automotive service and parts/accessories that includes some supervisory or management experience. Strong leadership and motivational skills with high customer service expectations, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and good computer skills are required. Certification by the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) is highly preferred.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Oversees the management and daily operations of the Service Department
Motivates and develops staff through coaching, mentoring, and training
Ensures stated goals are met
Manages budget and finances
Manages and mentors staff, including recruiting/hiring/training of all employees, payroll, managing issues of discipline/termination, ensuring ongoing training/education, etc.
Ensures compliance with all applicable federal and state laws and all company policies
Guarantees customer satisfaction in all areas
Manages all required paperwork and records and prepares documentation (forms, reports, etc.) when needed
Performs other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or GED required; some post high school education or training preferred
Five years progressively responsible management experience
Experience in supervising and managing staff
Knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, staffing, and scheduling
ASE certification (or is willing to obtain certification)
Excellent communication, customer service, and problem solving skills, including the ability to maintain composure under stress
Strong leadership and motivational skills
Strong organization skills, able to multi-task, and can manage time to meet frequently changing deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Highly professional and dependable
Safety and customer service oriented
Strong computer and internet skills, including Microsoft Office suite
