As a Gerald Auto Group receptionist, you will be the voice and face of our dealership so we need someone with a winning attitude, outgoing personality, and a professional appearance. To be a success in this position you will need to be reliable, professional, be client focused, and have great attention to detail. The front desk cashier/receptionist performs routine clerical, secretarial and administrative work in answering telephones, receiving the public, providing customer assistance, data entry processing, cashiering, scanning, filing, and record-keeping.

Essential Functions

  1. Welcome clients and visitors and refer clients to appropriate team member and customer lounge. Understand and follow receptionist processes and procedures.
  2. Answer and direct phone calls.
  3. Perform clerical duties such as data entry, typing, stocking inventory, proofreading, filing, photocopying, and sorting.
  4. Cashiering customer payments. Comfortable and accurate handling money.
  5. Assists with contacting customers for service follow up calls, reminder service calls, and preparation of daily service packets.
  6. Diffuse client concerns and direct them to the appropriate team member for assistance.
  7. Understand and follow cashier/receptionist processes and procedures.
  8. Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Hours of Work

This is a part-time position. Must be available to work shifts Monday through Friday 4:00 p.m. to 9 p.m., Saturdays between 7 a.m. - 7 p.m. for a half-day morning or afternoon shift (rotating).  This position requires Tuesday and Thursday nights.  Must be available to work open holidays such as Memorial Day, Labor Day, and New Years Day (to be determined). Should be team oriented and willing to help to cover shifts if a co-worker is sick or has an emergency.

Required Education and Experience

  • Graduation from high school or GED equivalent with course work in general office practices such as data entry, typing, filing, inventory control, accounting and bookkeeping, one year of increasingly responsible related experience, or any equivalent combination of related education and experience.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, scanning, and filing cabinets.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is active and requires standing, sitting, walking, bending, kneeling, and stooping. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
